The Best Women's Citizen Watches for Under...

Citizen watches have been in the watch business since 1918.  They began as Shokosha Watch Research Institute.  The name was changed, shortly after, being renamed after a pocket watch that was made in 1924.

Citizen is one of the largest watchmakers in the world.  They have some amazing technology and have been considered one of the better general watchmakers for a very long time.  With things like the Eco-Drive watches, which are solar powered watches, and Atomic timekeeping, Citizen is giving people products that are modern and utilize some of the latest technologies.

The Best Women's Citizen Watches for Under...

The best women's Citizen watch for under 200 dollars

Ladies Strap Eco-Drive
Model: EW1270-06A
Case: 25mm, Stainless steel
Band: Leather
Movement: Eco-Drive, E011
Functions: HH, MM, SS, Date
Battery: N/A
Water resistance: Splash resistant

The Ladies Strap Eco-drive is the entry level watch from Citizen, for women.  It is basically the lowest priced watch they offer at this time.  You can, of course, probably find a lower priced model still for sale on some of the watch retail sites, for less.  But this is a current model.

The watch has a 25mm stainless steel case, that is two-toned.  It has a crown that is located at the 3 o'clock position.  The bezel of the watch is a smooth rounded style, and the lens is a mineral crystal type.  The dial face of the watch is white, with Arabic numerals marking the hours, in black.  There is a date window located at the 3 o'clock position, and the hands of the watch are polished steel.  The band of the watch is leather, with a buckle style clasp.

The Ladies Strap sports an Eco-Drive movement, model #E011.  It is basically a quartz movement with a solar panel built into the watch.  Meaning you will have no need to replace the battery in this watch.  It will maintain itself.

The watch can be purchased through online retailers for around 120 dollars.  At that price, you are getting a Citizen watch with the Eco-Drive, and a nice looking watch at that.  I think the watch is priced right, and looks to be a nice buy.

Ladies Ceramic Eco-Drive
Model: EM0030-59A
Case: 39mm Stainless steel
Band: Stainless steel/Ceramic
Movement: Eco-Drive E031
Functions: HH, MM, SS
Battery: N/A
Water resistance: 100M/330ft

If you are looking for a large watch, here it is.  This Citizen watch is pretty darn big for a ladies watch.  It measures 39mm.  The case is made of stainless steel, with a crown guard built into the case.  The crown is located at the 3 o'clock position and the bezel is a white ceramic bezel.  The lens is a mineral crystal, and the dial face is white with Arabic numerals at the 3, 6, 9 & 12 o'clock positions.  The remaining hour markers are diamonds.  The hands of the watch are polished steel.  The band of the watch is a stainless steel and ceramic link style, with a folding clasp.

The movement is another Eco-Drive.  Eco-Drive model #E031, so again, you will not need to replace batteries with this watch, it will keep itself charged as long as it gets some sunlight.

The watch sells online for around 340 dollars.  It is a big watch with a unique blend of stainless steel and ceramic.  If you are looking for something someone will notice, this watch may very well fill that ticket.  It is a nice looking watch.

Eco-Drive World Chronograph
Model: FC5006-55A
Case: 38mm, Stainless steel
Band: Stainless steel
Movement: Eco-Drive H804
Functions: HH, MM, SS, Date, Day, Chronograph
Battery: N/A
Water resistance: 100M/330ft

This is another big one.  The Eco-Drive World Chronograph is nearly as big as the Ceramic, listed above.  It has a lot of gold toned stainless steel, and even some diamonds in it as well.  It is a bit of a blingy looking watch, and has some seriously nice features to boot.

The case is a combination of rose gold toned stainless steel and plain stainless steel, and measures 38mm in diameter.  It has the crown located in the standard 3 o'clock position and has chronograph function buttons located at the 2 & 4 o'clock positions.  It has a bezel with diamonds in it, and the lens is a sapphire crystal.  The face of the watch is silver toned stainless, and the outer ring of the face has abbreviated locations for the different time zones. Inside of that, it uses gold toned indexes to mark the hours, and has a date window located at the 4 o'clock position.  It has 2 prominent sub dials located at the 6 & 12 o'clock position, and an additional, less obvious sub dial located at the 9 o'clock position.  The band is also stainless steel, in both natural and gold tones, and it has a folding clasp.

The movement is an Eco-Drive H804.  This means it is solar powered like the other Citizen watches on this list, and on top of that it uses Atomic timekeeping technology.  Meaning it is going to keep some seriously accurate time.

This watch seems to cost around 720 dollars through the online retailers, a bit more if you want to buy it directly from Citizen.  It is a whole lot of watch, and a huge step up from the others so far on the list.  It is a seriously formidable watch.

Signature Series
Model: EM0374-50A
Case: 30mm, Two toned stainless steel
Band: Two toned stainless steel
Movement: Eco-Drive E031
Functions: HH, MM, SS
Battery: N/A
Water resistance: 100M/330ft

The signature series is still not something I would consider a small watch, but it does take a much more elegant approach to appearance.  It is a bit more of a dress watch, but still offers a whole lot of nice features just the same, and even some more diamonds.

The case is two toned stainless steel, gold and silver.  It measures 30mm and has a built in crown guard.  The crown itself is located at the 3 o'clock position, and the bezel is rounded, with diamonds at the 2, 4, 6, 8 & 12 o'clock positions.  The lens is also sapphire crystal and the dial has an outer ring of more diamonds.  Inside of that, the hours are marked with dots, except for the 12 & 6 o'clock positions, where Arabic numerals are used, and all in gold.  The hands of the watch are gold toned as well, and the band is a two toned stainless steel, linked style.  It has a folding style of clasp.

The movement is another Eco-Drive.  A E031 version, and is Solar power as well.

This watch costs around 1350 dollars online.  It is a nice dress watch, that shows off some of its expense, and would make a nice timepiece for those looking for such a watch.

Wrap Up

Citizen watches have been around for a very long time.  They make good products, and they have some fairly impressive technology they like to employ in their watchmaking.  They are a company I would recommend to many people looking for a watch that would fall in the 200-2000 dollar price point.  They have some nice flash, which is not common with all Japanese watchmakers, and are generally a good buy in terms of value to cost.
